“As an organisation IO continue to impress me with their attitude towards diversity and inclusion, with their dedicated diversity and anti-racist teams being highly respected across the business. Rachel McCorry leads by example and has been inspirational in championing action across the business.”

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Our priority is to ensure that every employee comes to work being themselves and can feel happy, safe and respected. We have always been proud to recognise and embrace the diversity of our employees and to celebrate our differences and our combined strength.

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR EMPLOYEES

We’ve taken steps to establish equal opportunities across the business for all our employees, regardless of race, gender, sexuality or disability. We are proud to buck the gender pay gap trend and celebrate women and men on equal terms. At Intelligent Office we have continued to develop our staff and promote from within, our company-wide recognition scheme has been a huge success over its many years, with long service awards and recognition from our founder just some of the ways we acknowledge the contributions made by individuals to our company and our clients.

We have always brought innovation and new ways of operational thinking to our clients, but why stop there? As an industry leader we will lead the charge for diversity and strive for workplaces that are inclusive for all. Our objective to drive this change begins with our people and our values as an organisation. We have made a commitment to promote diversity within the business and to be the face of change within the legal sector. Our upcoming diversity initiatives are for all employees and include dignity at work, and educational resources regarding anti-racism.

We remain committed to recognising and embracing the diversity of our employees and to celebrate our differences and our combined strength.

CELEBRATING OUR DIFFERENCES

In 2018 we set up our internal diversity committee, with a mission to “lead Intelligent Office in our commitment to recognise the diversity of the people who work for us and celebrate our differences and our combined strength.” The committee has a direct line into and advises the Leadership Team and will share articles and experiences on a wide variety of topics such as disability, race, religion and LGBTQ+. We are proud of our diverse workforce, who represent 16 different religions, 32 different nationalities, and are aged 18 to 80.

OUR COMMITMENT TO ANTI-RACISM

Intelligent Office has always enforced a zero-tolerance approach to racism and all forms of discrimination, believing that it should be eradicated from all workplaces and wider society. The anti-racist committee, sponsored by our CEO, proactively ensures that we are an anti-racist organisation, leading positive change across all areas of the business including, recruitment, promotion, training and education.

This committee has been named in honour of a colleague’s family member who sadly lost his life whilst in police custody. We are devoted to actioning change and equality for all in his memory.

VALUED CONTRIBUTIONS

Our employees have openly shared their experiences with us on a broad range of topics, such as anxiety, fibromyalgia, dyslexia, Asperger’s, mental health and religion. We deeply value the contributions that each individual brings to our organisation and are proud to have a culture where employees want to share their experiences with us. Our diversity reps are situated across the UK, providing support and advice where needed. Our diversity committee regularly put together and distribute materials to all employees, which cover a wide variety of topics and include contributions from staff.

QUOTES FROM OUR PEOPLE

“It’s crucial we adapt, change, and keep up to date with what is going on in the industry, so we can anticipate what the client will need—hopefully before they realise it themselves!"

LORRAINE CAMERON | OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

“The nature of our business means we make time to find ways to add value, create savings, and review processes, which are likely to be overlooked in-house. We can only do this because our management teams have a structure that provides support such as coaching on how to propose new ways of working. Law firms are demanding but for all the right reasons and if you’re not willing to try your best, it’s not an environment that you will thrive in.”

ROSIE CHAHAL | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER

“My current site is a shining example of where the team were not nurtured and valued as much as they might have been and in the short time Intelligent Office has been here, there is a different, more positive feel to everything.”

JULIET CLARK | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER

"It takes effort and commitment to maintain a work culture that has diversity and inclusivity at its core, and when this commitment comes from the top down it makes waves across the business. I have seen this in action at Intelligent Office as the Anti-Racism Committee took shape. What started as an idea, is now a fully-fledged operation with sub committees full of enthusiastic employees eager to educate and create change within the business. This has all been driven by our CEO who has been actively involved every step of the way, proving that our Senior Management Team are as dedicated and enthusiastic about diversity and inclusivity as we are."

ALEXES BOWMAN | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER
