“Intelligent Office was the answer to my dreams, the work, the people, everything is fantastic!”

CULTURE

The vision of Intelligent Office’s founders is a business synonymous with the delivery of outstanding client service by employees who are expertly supported with their career development to fulfil their potential and become the very best in the industry. Our continued commitment to this ethos – now benefiting over 800 employees, and the firms they work for – is frequently commended and has been formally recognised through our Investors in People accreditations.

AN INTRODUCTION TO INTELLIGENT OFFICE’S CULTURE

Our culture sets us apart; borne out in the way we interact with one another, the pride we take in the work we do and the support we deliver to our clients. Intelligent Office’s HR Business Partner, Sally Summerscale, explains more about why Intelligent Office is such a special place to work and how our clients benefit as a result.

At Intelligent Office, we place great value on employee engagement. We genuinely want our employees to be happy, fulfilled, and brilliant in their roles. Our day-to-day practices, underpinned by our comprehensive framework of training and development, enables a collaborative, innovative environment for the delivery of exceptionally high standards of service. Productivity increases by 20-25% and offers our client firms a competitive advantage over their competitors.

Our approach has again been recognised by Investors in People when, following rigorous assessment against their criteria for best practice in people management, in September 2021, we retained the Investors in People Platinum award. This makes us just one of 3% of accredited businesses across the world to hold this top award, and the only one to have received the accreditation for a second time.

The IIP standards are internationally recognised, and we are proud of a culture that offers many benefits and opportunities to both our team and our clients.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

At Intelligent Office, training and development is an integral and ongoing element of all employees’ experience with us. We offer a wide range of training opportunities, many tailored to meet the specific needs of our employees, that develop both technical and soft skills. As part of a growing organisation, our career pathing is a key focus.

COMMUNICATION

It has always been a priority at Intelligent Office for staff to feel connected to their team and be engaged in their work. We firmly believe in the importance of continuous communication: every employee has regular time with their line manager to discuss how happy they are in their work.  In addition, the daily 10-minute team briefings, whether in person or virtually, will review activity levels, task prioritisation and training updates. Our firmly established communication paths across the business became even more important during the pandemic as new remote and hybrid ways of working were established.

RECOGNITION

We love recognising the passion that our employees demonstrate in delivering outstanding support to their customers and clients; the wide array of initiatives and awards we offer celebrate their achievements. These are just one of the reasons we have attained Investors in People Platinum accreditation and also achieved Ones to Watch status in the Best survey that informs The Sunday Times Top 100 companies to work for.

An employee who recently joined us from another BPO provider to the legal sector sums it up nicely, “IO is so committed to its employees, I am fairly new and would like to say that based on my past experiences IO has a unique culture for an outsource provider. I am very happy here!”

QUOTES FROM OUR PEOPLE

Slide

“It’s crucial we adapt, change, and keep up to date with what is going on in the industry, so we can anticipate what the client will need—hopefully before they realise it themselves!"

LORRAINE CAMERON | OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

“The nature of our business means we make time to find ways to add value, create savings, and review processes, which are likely to be overlooked in-house. We can only do this because our management teams have a structure that provides support such as coaching on how to propose new ways of working. Law firms are demanding but for all the right reasons and if you’re not willing to try your best, it’s not an environment that you will thrive in.”

ROSIE CHAHAL | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER

“My current site is a shining example of where the team were not nurtured and valued as much as they might have been and in the short time Intelligent Office has been here, there is a different, more positive feel to everything.”

JULIET CLARK | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER

"It takes effort and commitment to maintain a work culture that has diversity and inclusivity at its core, and when this commitment comes from the top down it makes waves across the business. I have seen this in action at Intelligent Office as the Anti-Racism Committee took shape. What started as an idea, is now a fully-fledged operation with sub committees full of enthusiastic employees eager to educate and create change within the business. This has all been driven by our CEO who has been actively involved every step of the way, proving that our Senior Management Team are as dedicated and enthusiastic about diversity and inclusivity as we are."

ALEXES BOWMAN | BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER

"Intelligent Office is a very diverse organisation with equal career progression opportunities provided to all employees, regardless of race. The diversity training and anti-racist committee ensure inclusion is promoted at every level of the business."
