IO appointed by top 100 law firm for major outsourcing contract
A top 100 law firm has appointed Intelligent Office UK (IO) to deliver its document production, reprographics, mail and courier, front of house, records management and core goods procurement services.
The contract, which commences in July 2020, will see most of the law firm’s administrative support services outsourced to IO. Initially, 34 law firm employees will be supported through a TUPE transfer process to IO, all of which will be carried out virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Whilst many in the legal sector have acknowledged a need to reappraise traditional approaches to support service delivery, the pandemic has rapidly accelerated the need to implement more efficient operating models. For its new client, IO will use its significant skills and experience to facilitate a new way of working – both preparing buildings to be compliant with Government pandemic guidelines and ensuring that the support needs of fee earners is resourced appropriately and effectively. This, coupled with a digitisation and ‘paper-lite’ project, heavily supported by IO’s expert team, will enable their client to meet their ambitious plans for the future.
With more than 900 employees across 60 client sites and three shared services centres and high profile clients that include; The SRA, Shearman & Sterling, Gowling WLG and Penningtons Manches Cooper, IO has a strong reputation for delivering innovative and forward-thinking support services in the legal sector.
“We are delighted by this appointment; it’s testament to our reputation for being the market leader in transformative change in legal sector operations” says Rachel McCorry, CEO at IO. “Our new client is a well-respected and successful firm with plans to relocate to flagship new space in the capital next year. We are thrilled at the opportunity to support them in what will be an exciting time of change and look forward to welcoming the transferring employees to the IO family.”
