Intelligent Office UK (IO), the leading provider of support services to the UK legal sector, is delighted to announce that Farrer & Co has chosen to renew its contract for a third time.
The services IO are responsible for at Farrer & Co includes central reprographics, mail and courier, front of house, archiving and records management, facilities and security, and core goods procurement.
Farrer & Co outsourced to IO in 2007. Since then IO has improved the quality, professionalism and depth of services provided to the firm’s partners, fee earners and support functions.
The IO team have supported several major initiatives during the last contract term at Farrer & Co including project management of a large-scale refurbishment programme of the firm’s Grade 2 listed building in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. The IO team also led a number of significant records management projects including a full review of all storage in the vaults.
During the last contract term, Farrer & Co grew its revenue by over 17%. Whilst delivering an expanded range of services to the firm, IO has reduced the cost of service per fee earner by 8% during the same period.

In addition to the Farrer & Co renewal, IO won three new clients in the final months of 2017 delivering onsite document management services to the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA’s) 600 employees and also at major US firm Shearman & Sterling’s London office. They are also currently implementing a new solution at a UK Top 100 firm’s three offices.
These firms join an increasing number of UK top 100 law firms, which have outsourced to IOUK. Other clients include Gowling WLG, Penningtons Manches, Wedlake Bell, Capsticks, DAC Beachcroft and Boodle Hatfield.
